As a Roman Catholic Academy, St Michael’s is a community that seeks to live by the gospel taught by Jesus Christ and to learn from his example. In our experience of prayer, liturgy and pastoral care, we aim to value and respect all students and staff as unique individuals that all may grow and strive for excellence. Throughout our organisation, relationships and decisions, we aim to promote forgiveness, encourage charity and build faith.
Hexham and Newcastle Catholic Partnership
St Michael’s Catholic Academy belongs to the Catholic Partnership of secondary school communities in the Hexham and Newcastle Diocese. We work collaboratively with the aim of strengthening, promoting and celebrating our distinctive Catholic Ethos. The many opportunities that this makes available to both our students and staff at St Michael’s include spiritual, cultural, sporting and charitable activities, though which students will develop individually and gain strong common purpose, and distinctive collaborative training networks for staff go beyond what is available from other providers.
